There are many of us here in Clarksville that love to drink fancy coffee.

But what we don’t know is what it takes to make a good cup of our favorite Java.

Enter Grant Thomson, owner and operator of New South Coffee Co, and his three part “Coffee class”.

I signed up for his class so I could understand what it takes to make my favorite cup of Vanilla Latte. The course covered everything from the origin of the beans, to how important water quality i

s and the way to grind the beans to make your perfect cup of coffee. The last class was about the usage of one type of bean being brewed using different techniques. This was important because you get to taste the differences in aromas brought out by this techniques. Overall it was a fun and educating experience, I now learned how to appreciate a well brewed coffee.
